- A nicely varied selection of songs
Because Jennifer Lopez is such a media personality, I think it's difficult to put aside the tabloid headlines and simply evaluate her musical output. But you know what? "On the 6" is a pretty good CD. On this disc, Lopez blends Latin, disco, pop, and other elements for a largely satisfying whole.
The CD offers a nice mix of mellow and high energy numbers. "Should've Never" is enhanced by both a sensuous spoken-word bit as well as some erotic moaning. "Waiting for Tonight" is a good disco number that appears in two versions: English and Spanish (the latter titled "Una Noche Mas"). Another song that appears in two versions is "No me Ames," an excellent duet with Marc Anthony. With this song, both versions are in Spanish; the difference is that the first song has a salsa flavor (heavy on horns and percussion), while the second is a more laid-back ballad version. Also enjoyable is the mellow, romantic "Talk about Us."
Lopez proves herself an effective vocalist on the CD, and holds her own in her duet with the amazing Anthony. Yes, as a whole "On the 6" may just sound a bit too "slick" and commercial, but if you suspend whatever prejudices you might have, you just might enjoy it. I did.

- Go J Lo
This is a great Pop-dance-R'n B- album. Jennifer is a lot more than just another actress who tries to sing.
If you had my Love. I didn't like her debutsong so much. There are many better songs
Should've never: This is a wonderful romantic ballad
Too late: A latin flavoured song. Not my favourite
Feelin so good: With Fat Joe and Big Pun. A great Hip Hop song
Let's get loud: Written by GLoria Estefan. The summersong in 2000. A great salsa-song
Could this be love: A romantic ballad
No me ames: Tropical remix: Dance version of a wonderful ballad. I don't like it
Waiting for tonight: A dance song. Sounds like something Madonna or Kylie Minogue would sing.
Open off my love: This song is so sexy. It's a latin-song. and great for dancing
Promise me you'll try: Another ballad
It'S not that serious: Another Latin-sog
Talk about us: This ballad is almost too slow. It's getting boring.
No me ames: The ballad version is a lot better. She sings it wih Marc Anthony. I don't like him because his songs are so schmalzy but in this one he sounds great
Una noche ms: Waiting for tonight in Spanish
I think it's better to buy the European version of this CD because there are two great bonustrcks included.

- A male perspective
Obviously everyone giving out five stars here is either pre-pubescent or male. So here's another male perspective. ROTTEN in GOTHAM! This girl doesn't need fans - she's already madly in love with herself. You want to hear real talent? Try Estefan, Tanon, Hawkins, Jackson, Madonna. You think she can act? Try Streep, Paltrow, MacLaine, Sarandon. This girl ain't even close.

- singing lessons recomended
she is not a bad singer the only reason she got to sing is because of her body and she screams in lets get loud she is a fair actress the only time her voice really sounds good is when she sings in spanish so jennifer sing in spanish or take singing lesson if your going to sing in english

- Jennifer Lopez's "On the 6" -- Great All-Arounder album.
The Latina pride and joy of the Bronx - Jennifer Lopez has stormed in with her debut album entitled "On the 6". This LP was dedicated as an ode to her frequent rides on a New York City subway line leading her to the pinnacle of her success. Judging from the album, the success is well deserved. "On the 6" holds songs of a myriad of musical backgrounds, from the #1 R&B single "If You Had My Love" to the dance hit of "Waiting For Tonight" and the hiphopsy tune of "Feeling So Good" . Other impressive songs include "No Me Ames" the duet with other latin pop superstar Marc Antony and the salsa-ish single "Let's Get Loud" proves that Lopez shows diversity and interest in a variety of musical taste. In spite of Lopez's criticism on her vocals - she has put the meaning to the words musical "artist" and has been quite prosperous with it topping the Billboard and several other top 40 charts.
Jennifer Lopez album "On the 6" receives a Kenny rating of B+.
