Disco de Kylie Minogue: “On a Night Like This, Pt. 1 [Import CD]”

Kylie Minogue's maxi-single has been enhanced to include not just three very good dance tracks, but also a very nice music video of the title track. "Ocean Blue" and "Your Disco Needs You" are very good and great to dance to. But I like this CD for the title track and would've bought it if it just included "On a Night Like This". This dance track is both hypnotic to listen and dance to. This is the closest a dance single will ever get to being called a power ballad. The included video is cool in my book for having the lovely Kylie Minogue alone, but it also includes underappreciated actor Rutger Hauer in it as some powerful crime boss.

"On a Night Like This" should've made a better run in the U.S., but alas I guess the U.S. wasn't ready for Kylie at this song's original release.

Kylie followed up "Spinning Around" which had gone to number 1 in the UK and Australia with this Euro Disco smash.

Written and produced by the Metro team who were behind Cher's now legendary "Believe" Kylie again comes up with the goods. Catchy and infectious this song takes a couple of plays but soon lodegs itself in your brain. Kylie sang the song at the closing ceremony of the Olympics and brought the house down. On release the song entered the UK charts at number 2 and has since given Kylie another number 1 in Australia.

Also worth a listen is the "Almighty Remix" of "Your Disco Needs You". This remix takes the track of the album and makes it something really special. Fans everywhere think this is a great track and that it deserves to be a single in its own right. It is very camp and over the top. I can see the video now !

The greatest Maxi-Single from Kylie. "On a night like this" is a charming and catchy song", "Your disco needs you" is just fantastic and incredible. But listen to "OCEAN BLUE", a mesmerizing, haunting and celestial masterpiece that puts you in a trance. Definitly my all-time fave Kylie song. A dazzling moment of grace that makes you fly away to heaven. FABULOUS...

She sung this song to a worldwide audience of almost 4 billion people at the Closing Ceremony of the Games of the XXVII Olympiad, Sydney 2000. If it's good enough for the finale to the world's single biggest event, it's good enough for you listen to in your lounge room!

Sure this is Kylie's what, 6th #1 hit single, but it just keeps getting better and better!

Aside from the album version, Pt. 2 includes the Halo mix (8:01) and other songs, "Ocean Blue" and "Your Disco Needs You", Almighty Mix (8:22). There are very little vocals on the Halo mix. It airs mostly ambient sounds, making this version very trance. The best track in this CD single is the remix of "Your Disco Needs You" which includes vocals of Robbie Williams(?), so Village People!! This remix makes it into the all-time "ANTHEM" list. As a supplement to Pt. 1, this caps the comeback of Kylie Minogue.
