Paulina Rubio Album: “Pau-Latina”
Description :
Personnel: Paulina Rubio (vocals); Marcello Azevedo (guitar, keyboards, bass); Sergio George (keyboards, programming); Cesar Nieto (DJ).

Producers include: Chris Rodriguez, Marcello Azevedo, Emilio Estefan, Toy Hernandez, Sacha Triujeque.

Throughout her career, Latin pop idol Paulina Rubio has embodied the best stylistic elements of both Ricky Martin and Britney Spears, creating an energetic and intensely catchy mix that's tailor-made for both parties and dance floors. As with her other hit albums BORDERGIRL and PAULINA, the Mexican songstress combines modern salsa, Latin rock, house, and ranchera rhythms with a fun, flirty, old-school girl group pop sensibility. Whether letting loose with a gutsy, rapid-fire call for more liquor ("Dame Otro Tequila") or crooning in a sexy feline whisper ("Amor Secreto"), Paulina sounds like she's having the time of her life. It's this quality that makes PAU-LATINA a must-have for fans of Spanish-language music that encourages revelry and booty-shaking in equal measure.

- Absolute Pop Perfection, Exceeding Language Barriers
This album has been available for a year now, but one listen to the vibrant sounds that pulsate and groove on "Pau-Latina," married with her inspired vocals and undeniable talent, proves Paulina Rubio has created an album that maintains dignity with age; a feat that is hard to accomplish with straight-edged pop.
The rapturous "Te Quise Tanto" still hits the taste buds with a loud bang, as does the sexy, frantic "Algo Tienes," which reached #4 on the Top Latin Singles chart. So too does the set's rivaled highlight, the triumphant "Dame Otro Tequila," an ever-catchy kiss-off to those who bring us negativity in our lives which reached #1 on the Top Latin Singles chart along with "Te Quise Tanto."
Listeners who've known this material for a year and those who are yet to wisely listen to it will find it absolutely impossible to get through this album without listening to a handful of songs repeatedly before switching to another disc; the material is extremely solid. From the likes of the funky ranchera of "Ojala" to the indescribably gorgeous cinematic ballads "Amor Secreto" and "Volveras" to the encouraging "follow your dreams anthem" of "Alma En Libertad" to the festive bi-culturality of "My Friend, Mi Amigo," the albums highlights appear unceasing, and that is pretty much exactly the way it is.
A virtual catalyst for the dictionary definiton of ear candy, the disc is so superb it is most likely that Paulina will never record an album of such high quality and caliber again in her career; to even reach such a height a second time will be pure astonishment.
With powerful, ever-changing song structures that never cease to entertain, encourage, empower and enthrall, "Pau-Latina" is an unceasingly pleasing recording on which every song has what it takes to become a hit single. For all the musical enjoyment it gives, it pays for itself many times over.
Her hip-hop influenced sophomore English album awaits release later this year.

- PAULINA STILL #1 ON THE CHARTS
Wow, what can I say! I enjoyed listening to this cd as soon as I got it. I listen to it when I work out. Pau's songs have not only a certain rhythm in them for her fans to enjoy but there's always a story behind every great song & rhythm. I really love how she came up with new styles (spanish, batucada, hiphop, rancheras etc)and variations in her music. The CD in my oppinion is very SEXY & ENERGETIC. Everyone will have their personal favorites from this album... mine are "Perros" and "Adiosito Corazon." Paulina...Keep up the great work mujer!
from a fan of yours (since the Timbiriche years)

- The Girl knows how to have FUN
Paulina has really given us something to truly enjoy, the music is lots of fun. I am so glad that she decided to be different and blend unique worldly rhythms that no other Latin pop singer really does. She sets herself apart since it is obvious she planned this CD well; It was not just a mediocre CD to put out so that no one forgets you every three or four months. I applaud her for being a risk taker and giving her fans something innovative. Paulina has taken her music to a higher level. Just like the wonderful Shakira, she is definitely one of the best.

- OUTSTANDING PAU-LATINA
The album is truly amazing. Paulina Rubio returns to her roots with Pau-Latin, her seventh solo album, and her first in Spanish after her English debut, Border Girl. Without a doubt, this is her best album to date. All of the songs are well crafted with a touch of sophistication and features a great variety of latin and world rhythms from flamenco to cumbia to reggaeton to ranchera to hip-hop to dance and back to ballads. "Te Quise Tanto", the album's first single, is already gaining momentum on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks Chart with its increased airplay. Most of the album's songs sound like single material and feature lyrics with 'more feeling', so to speak. However, Paulina still manages to play and have fun with tracks such as the reggaeton track "Perros" and the hip-hop ranchera "Ojalá". If you thought her 2000 #1-Selling Latin album Paulina was impressive, Pau-Latina surpasses it by far as far as quality is concerned and could quite possibly meet or exceed its success. On the whole, Pau-Latina is a must-have no fan of this latin diva or Latin music in general should be without.
