Disco de The Pussycat Dolls: “PCD”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Pussycat Dolls: Nicole Scherzinger (vocals); Carmit Bachar, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt (background vocals).
Additional personnel: John Goux (guitar); Ray Hermann (saxophone); Chris Tedesco, Bill Churchville (trumpet); Nick Lane (trombone); Cori Jacobs (Fender Rhodes piano); Ron Fair (Wurlitzer piano); Tal Herzberg (bass guitar); Timbaland, Will.i.am, Rich Harrison, Busta Rhymes.
Recording information: Hit Factory, Miami, Florida (2005).
Ensembles: The Angel City Horns; The PCD Orchestra.
With roots in the Los Angeles burlesque scene, the Pussycat Dolls are a blatantly sensual dance-pop group, as revealed on their debut, PCD. Led by vocalist Nicole Scherzinger, the Dolls excel at steamy club workouts, most notably the slinky, strip-joint-ready "Don't Cha," which features rapper Busta Rhymes, and an electronica-tinged take on the 1980s Soft Cell hit "Tainted Love."

- even you can make millions!

It's really not the Pussycat Dolls or their songs that bother me. There's been worse pop music. It's me that bothers me. I'm disappointed in myself that so far I haven't I haven't been able to think up a scheme, like this group, to make millions off the vast number of idiots out there. Could you imagine the producers of this group and the girls sitting around in an expensive hotel room laughing their butts off rolling around in the dough saying: "can you believe this!?! ahahahaa! I knew there were tons of gullbile idiots out there but I didn't think they'd fall for this again!! cheers!" (clink sound of champagne glasses)

I mean I'd call them marketing geniuses but really it's so obvious you wouldn't think it would work these days. Make a group consisting of "hot" girls and throw in some manufactured tunes and "sexy" lyrics. Boom. Millions.

Oh well...off to work on my plan. Hmmmm we haven't had a boy band around in awhile...

- Spice Girls With No Spice.

"PCD" may stand for Pussycat Dolls, but for all I know, it could also stand for Pretty Crappy Drivel. Jeez, how much lower can the music industry stoop? Now, don't get me wrong. I like guilty pleasure pop as much as the next Spice Girls or Justin Timberlake fan, but "PCD" is guilty pleasure pop that's high on guilt and low on pleasure. "Don't Cha" is passable radio-fluff; imagine a filtered-down Destiny's Child with just a fraction of Beyonce's sass. "Stickwitchu" and "Waitaminute" go in one ear and right out the other, and they have the unmitigated gall to ruin "Tainted Love," a old tune Soft Cell made famous back in 1982. Would anyone old enough to remember Soft Cell's version appreciate the Pussycat Dolls' version? Highly unlikely. "PCD" gets the dubious honor for making a great argument in favor of copy-protected CDs. That's because no kind person should rip and burn music this bad for his/her friends.

- great album

If you like listening to pop music and you're tired of Britney Spears, then the Pussy Cat Dolls' PCD album is perfect for you. A great album to listen to in the car with friends. Their album is something you would listen to at a club like "Don't Cha", "Buttons", "Hot Stuff".

- Talentless Tramps

I'm sorry I ususally do not go just to badmouth a c.d. but this group I just cannot believe people like. Do these girls have a creative bone in their body? Do they try to be taken in any way seriously? All they have is the same old bubblegum pop that would even be all right if it was sung good- and these girls together sound awful so that just makes it worse.

Sex sells though, and that is the only message these women are giving. If they think anyone really takes them seriously then they are kidding themselves. There is only one okay singer in the group and then the rest just dance around in skimpy clothes, showing that all they have is a few moves. Their lyrics are shallow (how long did it take to write some of these songs- a minute?) and they better figure out what to do in the future because they're not always going to be sex symbols.

But who could have respect for these girls is beyond me. They degrade their own selves and I can't believe women still do that just for some money. Talentless tramps is all these women are, and soon enough, I don't care what anyone says- they'll be forgotten for the next set of sex symbols will take the stage and they'll be nothing but a faint memory. Either that or that one okay singer will ditch the rest (for they are basically useless in all the songs- she could afford backup singers that probably are even better than those other 'dolls') and make her own solo album. I know one of those happening and soon and I won't shed a tear when it happens.

Please young women of today (because I know most of the crowd is most likely young girls) do not listen to this if you want music to inspire you. There are so many women out there that no may not be on Mtv but will live eternity through their music because it is so amazing, strong, and beautiful. Don't listen to this mindless fluff where these women don't even mean the words they say. They don't want nothing but easy money. There are people out there that take music seriously, that believe and love their music- look up to those people in the music business to inspire you- not these girls.

- A bit hesitant at first, but CD won me over!

I loved "Don't Cha" when I first heard it played. The catchy beats won me over and I think Nicole has a powerful voice. Saw the CD in stores, took a chance...and low and beholve...it won me over. They did a couple of covers and gave it some more dance beats and it made the song. Overall, Nicole has an amazing voice. It's so powerful!
